Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has urged Dubai government employees to “stay home as much as possible” to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Dubai Media Office published a message from the Crown Prince of Dubai sent to government employees, where he highlighted the efforts being taken by UAE leaders to contain the spread of the virus and the importance of individuals taking precautionary measures.

Several Dubai government departments have asked their staff to work remotely since the Covid-19 pandemic emerged and preventive measures across the government were taken, including postponing events and gatherings, encouraging residents to use government’s smart apps for services and sterilising equipment and vehicles.

“The world is experiencing difficult and challenging times, affecting communities across the globe, including the UAE,” Sheikh Hamdan wrote.

“We are indeed blessed with exceptional leaders who provide comfort, safety and peace of mind to UAE citizens and residents, who deserve the best.

“However, every individual in society is responsible to make temporary changes to their lifestyle and ensure they are implementing precautionary health and safety measures during these critical times.

“Let us all remain within the comfort of our own homes as much as possible for our safety and wellbeing, and in support of the many individuals who spent their days and nights to keep our nation safe and secure. Let us not underestimate the power of our own individual contributions, and remain committed to our collective safety and wellbeing, as lift get back to normal.”

He said it is “our national duty and responsibility” to protect our individual and collective safety and wellbeing.

On Monday, Sheikh had reassured the UAE citizens and residents that the country is “infinitely” able to supply everyone with food and medicine they could ever need.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces said: “We are well prepared to face any challenge that arises”.
