Dubai has urged everyone to get vaccine against COVID-19n before travelling abroad during the upcoming holiday season.  

A person must give 14 days time to the body to make the vaccine effective, the heath experts urged residents.

This decision has been taken to ensure the safety of residents and citizens during COVID-19 pandemic.  

Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum presided over a meeting of the emergency team to review the measures in Dubai to curb the spread of virus.

The meeting was called to asses the evolving global situation in which new highly-transmissible variants of the virus are raising new concerns for authorities.

Experts told everyone to give sufficient time to the body to maximise its immune response.

The authorities regularly urge residents to get the jab for the safety of the society and family members.

The UAE ranked the highest in the world for vaccine doses distributed per 100 persons.

The authorities said that over 15 million vaccine doses have been administered in the emirates. The Dubai emergency team told residents to assess the situation before commencing the journey.

They urged residents to avoid crowded places and, refrain from traveling to countries where the situation is grim as this could leave them stranded in the near future.   

Residents must wear facemasks and follow the social distancing guidelines to minimize the risks of getting infected.

It is noteworthy that despite the current pandemic, Dubai maintains highest levels of protection against the pandemic.
