Since the beginning of Ramadan Abu Dhabi Police have busted 39 gatherings that were in violations of precautionary measures to limit the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Police have referred the cases to the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Prosecution for further procedures.
The Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Prosecution and Abu Dhabi Police have called on the public to adhere to the preventive measures issued by the competent authorities to limit the spread of Covid-9 disease.
It is to be noted that it is illegal to host iftar parties or gatherings as per the directives issued by the health authorities and there is a penalty of Dhs10,000 for the host and Dhs5,000 fine for each participants for flouting the restrictions set for parties and gathering.
Abu Dhabi Police explained that some societal behaviors and traditions associated with the Holy Month of Ramadan have become, in light of the current health conditions, a grave danger to the health and safety of community members.
The Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Prosecution and the Abu Dhabi Police have affirmed the importance of all community members coming together to support the efforts of the competent authorities to combat the spread of infection.
