NINE STRANDED PEOPLE RESCUED FROM MOUNTAINOUS SHAHA AREA: With the help of some of the people of the area, the search and rescue team of the Air Wing Department of the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, in two separate incidents within two weeks, rescued nine people of different nationalities who were stranded in the extremely rugged mountainous Shaha area, which rises 4,000 feet.

According to Colonel Pilot Saeed Rashid Al Yamahi, Head of the Air Wing Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police, the Operations Room received the first report last week, alerting that four persons were stranded, while the second report was received two days ago alerting that five others were stranded in the Shaha area, north of Ras Al Khaimah, during a mountain climb.

Al Yamahi explained that instantly on receiving the reports, the Rescue team and the Ambulance headed to the scene.

Because of the ruggedness of the area, a helicopter of the Ras Al Khaimah Police was used, and the Rescue team found the victims and provided them with the necessary support. And then immediately transported them to a safe place.

Al Yamahi appealed to the public to avoid going to rugged areas, high mountains, and other areas that may pose a lethal danger to their lives.
