An African watchman and his five runaway accomplices were prosecuted and referred to criminal court after they assaulted and robbed two brothers of Dhs2,000 in Dubai.

The robbery took place last October, when the victim and his brother were surprised with a knock on the door of their apartment late at night.

The brothers opened the door to find the building’s watchman with five African individuals, who forced their way into the apartment held them.

They began to brutally beat brothers, asking them to give up whatever cash they had. The gang took the brothers’ phones and an amount of Dhs2,000.

The gang fled the scene, and the victims were left with bruises all over their bodies.

After a police report was filed, police arrested the watchman who instigated the robbery and helped the runaway defendants to assault the brothers.

It was later revealed that the defendant was having an old dispute with the brothers, and that is why he decided to take revenge.
