Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) announced that it signed an agreement with Amina Hospitals, which will sponsor the first Ajman Half Marathon organised by Al Qudra Sports Management, on Monday. The Half Marathon, which will be held on Friday 27th December at Al Zorah, will include four races. Prizes valued at Dhs22,000 will be presented to the men and women who win first, second and third-place in the open and national categories of the 21km half marathon.

The sponsorship agreement was signed by Badr Ibrahim Al Zarooni, Deputy General Manager of Al Qudra Sports Management; and Mohamed Ali Al Omari, COO of Anglo Arabian Healthcare Group; in the presence of Saud Al Jasmi, Head of Events at ATDD; Shafiq Ajour, Operations Manager; Ali Al Shafie, HR Manager; and several directors at the Hospital.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, ATDD Chairman, said, “Sports and community events and activities have the support of our wise leaders who believe in the importance of the sports as a means of strengthening the noble bonds among different segments of society in line with our national traditions, which Ajman Government is keen on promoting in various fields.”

Sheikh Abdul Aziz emphasised the importance of this agreement with Amina Hospitals, which will sponsor the first Ajman Half Marathon. He extended his thanks and appreciation to all sponsors of activities and events held in Ajman.

Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, stated, “This agreement with Amina Hospitals is in line with ATDD’s effort to boost sports and recreation events and activities in the Emirate in order to promote the tourism industry and achieve the aim of Ajman Vision 2012 by attracting 800,000 hotel guests by 2021.”

Al Geziry added, “The first Ajman Half Marathon will build on ATDD’s successful organisation of previous sports events and activities. Both visitors and sports enthusiasts look forward to participating in these events.”

The Amina Hospitals’ Half Marathon – the first such event in Ajman – is the most valuable in terms of prizes, which total Dhs22,000. To accommodate the community and runners of different levels, the event includes the main 21.1km race and 10.5km, 5km and 2.5 km races.

The sponsorship agreement is in line with Anglo Arabian Healthcare Group and Amina Hospitals’ efforts to play a role in the community in terms of sports, the economy, and humanitarian and charitable sectors.
