You can get rid of new tabs the same way you got rid of the Meet tab, if you don’t remember how, or if you’re having this problem for the first time, here’s how to deal with it.
These instructions apply to the Gmail app on both Android and iOS. Note: Your directions may vary slightly depending on your Android phone.
Select the three-line drop-down menu icon in the upper left corner, scroll down and tap Settings.
Select the Gmail account you want to change.
On an iPhone, turn off Show Chats and Rooms Tab near the top of the page On an Android phone, scroll down to the Chats category and uncheck Show Chats and Rooms Tabs.
With these steps you’ll reclaim some space in the Gmail app, and if you want to show all tabs – Chat, Rooms, Meet – go back to the same settings page and select (or turn on) both the Show Chat & Rooms tab and the Show Meetup tab For video calls, the three tabs will appear in one line at the bottom of the screen.
