Nokia Smart Node offers 4G and 5G indoor coverage

Nokia announced a Nokia Smart Node rather quietly. The Smart Node is a smart solution to bring 4G and 5G SA / NSA networks indoors, which can be wall or ceiling mounted or placed on a desk. The good thing about the Node is definitely its modularity, so customers can choose whether they want a stand-alone 4G or 5G network and a non-stand-alone network in their office space.

To have a fast 5G network in your home, you can use the 5G Fast Mile Gateway from Nokia. However, this is not suitable for large offices. For this reason, Nokia has launched Femtocells or Nokia Smart Node that can cover up to 64 users.

Smart Node doesn’t seem to be commercially available yet, but your local network operator may have them on offer for small and medium-sized businesses.
