Your Amazon Echo stays busy all day from remember you about important dates too rock yourself to sleep at night and become your TV speakers in the living room. But sometimes even Alexa needs a break. Fortunately, there are tons of great games to play on your Amazon Echo using Amazon’s voice assistant.

Some of our favorites are games from TV shows like Deal or No Deal where you try to pick the suitcase with the most (wrong) money. Another favorite is the Song Quiz, where you pick a decade of music like in the 80s and try to guess the music based on an excerpt.

Here is a list of nine of the best Alexa games for you Amazon Echo and how to play them.

Are you smarter than a fifth grader?

Just like on the TV show, answer questions to see if you are smarter than a fifth grader. It starts with a first grade question like, “The cricket is an insect, true or false?” If you get it right, move on to a second grade section, and so on, until you reach fifth grade. A fifth grade question could be: “In what condition did the witch trials in Salem take place?”

If you ask a question incorrectly, you automatically lose and have to start over. First, say “Alexa, play Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader”.

Escape from the room

If you’ve always wanted to try an escape room, Escape the Room is a good place to start. You have five locations to choose from – prison cell, office, car, spaceship or garage – and the goal is to escape.

You will be given puzzles that you have to solve in order to leave the room. For example, you may need to check a circuit breaker and connect the colored wires in a specific order. First activate the skill in the Alexa app and then say “Alexa, play Escape the Room”.

Song Quiz

The song quiz is great whether you are alone or have a couple of friends. If you play alone, Alexa will find another player to fight with. Start by choosing your favorite music decade like the 70s or 2000s (pick a category you know well).

Alexa then plays a fragment of a song and you have to guess the artist and the title. If you only know one of the two, you will only get half the points. You will hear a total of six songs and then go into a bonus round. The player with the most points wins.

20 questions

The object of this game is to think of an animal and answer the 20 questions without Alexa knowing what you have chosen. For example, if you think of a giraffe, Alexa might ask you if it has a long neck or if it lives in grasslands.

You will want to think of something that is difficult to guess. I thought of a koala and Alexa never guessed it. Say “Alexa, play 20 questions” to get started.

Deal or no deal

When you start playing Deal or No Deal, first choose one of 22 cases. You will then go through three rounds of choosing a number of suitcases to open (just like they did on the TV show). The aim is to open the cases with the least amount of money. At the end of each round, the banker offers you an amount that you can either accept or say “no deal” to proceed.

You want to end up with the $ 1 million suitcase, of course, but $ 400,000 is just as good, isn’t it? To play, say “Alexa, play deal or no deal”.

Danger!

You finally have a chance at risk! With Alex Trebek as your host, you’ll go through a series of clues followed by questions – and some are difficult. And just like the game show, you need to answer this in the form of a question, e.g. B. “What is …” and “Who is …”.

Every day of the week you will receive new clues to enable your brain to do a workday workout. When you’re ready to begin, just say “Alexa, play Jeopardy”.

The magic door

The Magic Door is an adventure game where you can choose from three scenarios – mountains, sea or dark forest – to find a magic door. Once you have made a selection, begin your journey. Alexa will walk you through the path, give you details on the developments ahead, and ask you if you want to get out of there or move on. Go on with the story until the end.

During the game you can collect hidden objects, solve puzzles and help magical creatures. To play, say “Alexa, play The Magic Door”.

Lemonade stand

If you’ve always wanted to own a lemonade stand, now is your chance. Lemonade Stand starts you with $ 5 play money. Alexa will let you know what the weather will be like – for example, it can be warm and sunny or cold and rainy. Note that you don’t sell many when it’s cold and rainy.

You choose how many cups of lemonade you want to sell for the day, how much you want to spend on advertising, and how much you want to charge for a cup of lemonade. If you’re low on cash, Alexa will automatically increase you back to $ 5.

To use this, you need to grant permission in the Alexa app and then tap Activate for use.

The Wayne investigation

If you’re a Batman fanatic, you’ll love playing The Wayne Investigation. In this game you are investigating the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents. First, listen to the plot and make decisions based on what you hear. You’ll pick up objects for clues and talk to characters for more information on who may have killed their parents.

If you make the wrong choice by following the wrong character or looking at the wrong object, Alexa will notify you so you can try again. To begin the investigation, say, “Alexa, open the Wayne investigation.”
