Xbox Series X Launch Games: All titles available to play on...

We’re on the home stretch: the Xbox Series X and the smaller, cheaper Series S are less than a week away from launch. In fact, we have retail stores of both – what a time to be alive. The new Xbox was supposed to launch along with a new Halo, but the Halo Infinite delay means we don’t have a Master Chief to keep us warm this holiday season.

But that’s okay! There are many games that hit the console at launch to keep you busy, including a number of current generation games that have received next generation updates. The full list of launch titles can be found below.

Assassins Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, but Xbox owners can get it two days early. The game will be released along with Serie X on November 10th. A PS5 version will follow on November 12th on the Sony console. Time to put on your Viking Raider hat.

Fourteen days

Fortnite’s money train rolls into the next generation of games. The Battle Royale shooter is coming to Xbox Series X on launch day. Epic Games says it will be optimized for next-gen hardware but will be on the lookout for major changes over the next year as Fortnite migrates from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 .

Royal cuisine

If you like battle royales but aren’t a fan of Fortnite, Cuisine Royale might be for you. It’s a less caricatured version of gunfights where you earn ingredients that you then turn into skins and new items – and use the cuisine in Cuisine Warfare. Originally launched on Steam in 2018, it will be available on Xbox Series X when it launches.

NBA 2K21

NBA 2K21 was released for Xbox One and PS4 in early September – at mixed ratings – and will be released along with Xbox Series X on November 10.

Dirt 5

What better way to demonstrate the power of the next generation than with mud? Lots and lots of mud. Well, and cars too. Dirt 5 launches on November 6th on Xbox One and PS4. A series X release will follow on November 10th.

Border areas 3

Borderlands 3 is coming to both Xbox Series X and PS5 on their respective launch days. It takes the Xbox One / PS4 version and achieves a resolution of 4K at 60 frames per second (or a resolution of 1440p for the S series). More importantly, there will be gameplay upgrades: local split-screen co-op play, a new game mode, and additional skill trees for all character classes. Best of all, if you already own it on Xbox One, you can play it on your Series S / X for free.

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 is treated the same as Borderlands with a version optimized for Xbox Series X. Like Borderlands 3, Smart Delivery is used to update copies that are already on Xbox One. Move around, Ori, there’s a new breath in town. Evergate is a puzzle and platform game released for the Switch and Steam in August. It leans more closely to and benefits from the puzzle piece of its genre. GameSpot’s Steve Watts called it a “remarkably clever” game that “is constantly inventing new ways to interact with the world.” It’s coming to Xbox Series X on November 10th.

Tetris Effect: Connected

The Tetris Effect was a surprise hit and one of the best games of 2018. Connected is a multiplayer expansion that is exclusively available for Windows and Xbox large Extension. Think of Connected as “the 2.0 version of Tetris Effect,” says the publisher of the game.

If your thirst for visually stunning puzzles isn’t quenched by Tetris or Evergate, Manifold Garden has your back. It is a first person puzzle game developed by an artist who has previously worked with sculpture rather than a typical type of game developer. It was released for PC last year, followed by Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 ports this year. Along with the launch of the Xbox Series X, an updated version will be available.

Observer: System Redux

It was released back in January in Japan and will be released on Xbox Series X on launch day.

If you missed out on No Man’s Sky when it launched in 2016, now may be a good time to give it a try. The game, which received a lukewarm reception when it was released, has improved dramatically over the years. The version for Xbox Series X, which is coming out at the start, offers improved graphics, 4K resolution and 32-player multiplayer. Get a free upgrade if you already own the Xbox One version.

Dead in daylight

Dead By Daylight is another situation on No Man’s Sky: it launched to a mixed reception in 2016, but has improved a lot in recent years. The difference is that this game will scare you.
