Lord – Cyberpunk 2077: another postponement of the release date

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games this year. As well as promising a lot with its association with the creator of the cult series The Witcher, this game has fans languishing with a number of carryovers rarely recorded. For the umpteenth time, the game’s release date has been postponed for obvious reasons. This delay of more, or of too much, is all the more unprecedented as it took place under improbable conditions. A real soap opera to follow which, hopefully, will finally come to an end.

A fourth postponement for this year

We all went through the horrors of this particular year. Pandemic requires, many video game releases, but also film have been postponed. Cyberpunk 2077 was one of them. Indeed, initially, the game was to be launched on April 16, 2020. In full containment, CD Projekt Red has decided to postpone the launch on September 17. Due to delay in preparation, the studio announced a joint launch with that of the PS5 in the world, that is to say on November 19. So far, it’s understandable.

But now, the many gamers who were impatient to test this game announced as a real bomb will once again be disappointed. For the fourth time, the game’s release date has just been pushed back. The ad fell on October 28. Cyberpunk 2077 will ultimately not be available when the PS5 is released. It will take 21 more days, that is to say December 10, to roam the streets of Nigth City. The excuse of the health crisis no longer seems to hold water. Moreover, the announcement did not fail to generate strong reactions from some disappointed players.

A postponement under unprecedented conditions

Despite this umpteenth disappointment, we are ready to forgive CD Projekt Red for this delay. We can only sympathize when we know that the studio team, working hard to get the game ready for November 19, had learned the news of the postponement on the Internet, at the same time as all Internet users. Anecdotal conditions that will certainly remain in the annals, especially if the game manages to mark the world of gaming.

What’s more, the December 10 release is not final. It is possible that the game is, again failed, especially if the health situation worsens. This is the case in France with a reconfinement announced from next Friday, October 30.

The CD Projekt Red team say they are working hard to get the game out on schedule. Moreover, this delay could be explained by the time required to optimize the title on next-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X and S).
