It’s been a fertile few months for Apple fans as the company unveiled a range of new products, including new iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. But if rumors are to be believed, it’s not finished yet – and it seems that Apple itself inadvertently revealed the next product for an update.

The release notes for a recently released update to Boot Camp (which allows users to run Windows on their Mac) contain references to an unreleased 16-inch 2020 MacBook Pro. The last 16-inch MacBook Pro was released last year and is currently at the top of our list of the best laptops for graphic design – but could its successor be on the way?

Ever since Apple announced the switch to ARM-based Macs, the rumor has been that the first Mac with Apple’s own silicon chip will be completely “ARM” (sorry). Previous leaks suggested that the 12-inch MacBook might make a comeback, but this latest development could mean that it will be the largest MacBook to get special treatment first.

There are several reasons an ARM-based MacBook might be an enticing prospect for creative minds. Apple’s new chips offer incredible performance and efficiency while requiring less cooling. This means that in theory we can see a device with the performance of a MacBook Pro and the form factor of a MacBook Air – the ultimate balance between performance and portability.

Rumor has it that the new 16-inch MacBook could be available as soon as next month. Well-known Apple leaker Jon Prosser has suggested (above) that Apple plans to host another event on November 17th to showcase its first ARM-based MacBooks. Then don’t wait long.

By then, you could do a lot worse than the current 16-inch MacBook Pro – it’s also our best laptop for video editing as well as graphic design. Check out today’s best deals below and don’t forget to check out our Apple Black Friday page to see what deals are in store for you.
