We have known for years that Halo Infinite would have microtransaction storage. In 2018, a job ad mentioned 343 microtransactions and how developers will use human psychology and behavioral analysis to encourage people to keep coming back.
While Halo Infinite has microtransactions, there are no paid loot boxes. Given that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode is free to play, it makes sense that the game support microtransactions in order to make money from the product.
It is understandable that fans would have concerns about microtransactions considering how they can be treated in different games. It’s good to know that Halo Infinite allows players to earn items through gameplay, but it’s too early to say how player-friendly the system will be until we get more specifics.
