Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla receives a one-shot manga from Vinland Saga Writer

The upcoming title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, had already grabbed eyeballs with its announcement trailer. It’s one of the most anticipated games of the year and Ubisoft leaves no stone unturned when it comes to promotional content. The ‘Echoes of Valhalla’, the podcast that tells the story behind the game, has already become a huge hit on Spotify. And now the game has collaborated with Japanese manga writer Makoto Yukimura.

The reason for this collaboration is Yukimura’s popular manga Vinland Saga, which tells the story of the Scandinavian invasion and Viking settlers, like the upcoming installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. Vinland Saga has its own large fan base and the circulation of this manga has already exceeded 5.5 million.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla gets a Japanese connection

As part of this collaboration, Yukimura has drawn a unique short story for the game, which Ubisoft will publish on the official AC: Valhalla website. This is also featured in the October 24th issue of Monthly Afternoon, the magazine where the Vinland saga is serialized.

Yukimura wrote this short film as part of the ongoing Vinland Saga manga. The translated versions, including those in English, will be available shortly.
