The hairdresser and Brisbane Lions player met as teenagers, but they did not meet romantically six years later.
The couple married in Perth in November 2018 before moving to Brisbane, where Julie lived together.
Lachie switched teams from Fremantle to the Lions after seven seasons, only to settle in Brisbane shortly after her marriage to Julie.
