WTF?! Are you planning to buy an Xbox Series X? Do you have a love for KFC that borders on the terrible? Then combine both with an XBSX controller that pays homage to the popular fast food giant.
The unlikely sounding accessory is the result of a partnership between Xbox and KFC in the UK (as reported by Tom’s Hardware). The fried chicken restaurant chain is giving away an Xbox Series X console to lucky participants in the country every day.
I mean…
Runner-up, or possibly the punishment, is a KFC-themed controller that’s so glaringly terrible that “winners” will likely paint this thing over. It must have been misplaced hubris on the part of KFCs to believe that people would look at the words “fingers click well” without feeling sick.
Winning a free Xbox Series X sounds good, though. For the competition, which runs until November 15th, you need to sign up for the KFC Rewards app and sign up. Once that’s done, all you have to do is buy a boxed meal and enter the code on the box or scan the receipt.
Tom notes that this isn’t the only grocery store giving away next generation consoles. In the US, Burger King is offering customers the chance to win a PlayStation 5, while Taco Bell is running its own Xbox Series X competition. Fortunately, no vomiting-inducing topic-related controllers are transmitted to people either.
KFC has stood behind Special Edition devices in the past. In 2017, the company partnered with Huawei to launch a limited edition Enjoy 7 Plus, marking the 30th anniversary of the company’s arrival in China. However, unlike the XBSX controller, this one didn’t cause blindness if you looked at it for too long.
