iPhone 12 pre-orders, but Apple is doing things differently this time....

Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 are open to everyone. At least for two models. You can buy them iPhone 12 and iPhone Pro now, though not everyone will get them at the same time. Even a few hours after pre-orders began on Friday morning, estimates for the iPhone 12 Pro’s delivery date with free shipping have been pushed back to November, or a few days earlier if you’re paying for faster shipping.

The iPhone 12 is still marked for delivery on the launch day. Friday October 23rdThis is also when these first two models hit stores. But if that’s what you want iPhone 12 Mini or iPhone 12 Pro max, you have to wait until 6. November place an order and up 13. November for them to actually ship.

The other big change for 2020 is pricing: all four vendors sell two iPhones for $ 30 less than buying a SIM-free model from Apple. With so many models (here is how to tell them all apart) and staggered sales dates, this is certainly Apple’s most confusing iPhone launch yet.

Every new iPhone has 5G connectivity, a first for Apple, an OLED display and camera enhancements, especially the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro max.

When can I buy the iPhone 12?

This year, Apple has staggered the release of all iPhone 12 models. This means that the timing of the pre-orders is based on the model you want.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro: Pre-orders are now available. They opened Friday, October 16 at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET). Availability and sale date are October 23, although the delivery time for the iPhone 12 Pro drops to late October or early November.

iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro max: Pre-orders will begin on Friday November 6th (no time announced yet). Availability and sale date November 13th.

Unless otherwise noted below, all US carriers and retailers begin pre-orders and deliveries at the same time.

Buy from Apple in just a few steps

You can of course buy directly from Apple. Pro tip: Use the Apple Store app on your iPhone to speed up the process. You can choose your exact model, go through the approval process with your carrier for the upgrade, and even sign up for the Apple Card or agree to the terms of the iPhone upgrade program. It’s an all-round smooth experience.

Cellular provider

Buying the new iPhone through a cellular provider can have the added benefit of offers and promotions. Often, however, you’ll need to switch providers or add lines to your account.

AT & T.

New or existing AT&T customers receive a free iPhone 12 If you’re trading an iPhone 8 or later and signing up for one of AT & T’s new unlimited plans.

Verizon Wireless

Best Buy effectively reflects the offer from AT&T: Get the iPhone 12 for free with “Qualified activation and trade-in from AT&T for new and existing customers” or the Pro with the same basic provisions for USD 6.67 per month 30 months.
