As the release date for the new console draws nearer, reporters and reviewers have found more time to preview builds of the X Series. The feedback from these early sessions has provided potential buyers with plenty of valuable information. For example, many reporters have claimed that the Series X has a serious overheating issue, despite an insider testing their preview model with a thermometer and finding that it actually runs cooler than the Xbox One. The information isn’t always reliable, but it does give gamers an idea of what to expect from the new console.

GamesRadar + has taken over https://twitter.com/GamesRadar/status/1317197371244236800 to share his experience with Series X as well, and the news isn’t great for fans. The website reports that downloading a game from disc takes about the same time on Xbox Series X as it does on Xbox One. In particular, the team tried to install Titanfall 2 and found it took about 35 minutes to fully download the game, followed by a 30GB update which slowed things down even more. This is especially disappointing given the incredible loading speeds recorded on the new console. This was highlighted by the good folks at GamesRadar + who were definitely amazed by the download speeds.
The significant improvement in performance and graphics that the Xbox Series X brings to the current generation of games has already been recorded. Given the extensive list of improvements that gamers can expect from the new hardware, it is a huge disappointment that they have to wait so long to play their favorite games. Long download times have been a nuisance to modern games for some time and are despised by gamers for very good reasons. Nobody wants to sit down to play a brand new game that they’ve spent $ 60 on, or $ 70 in the next generation, only to have to wait an hour before they can actually play it.
There are still many reasons to be excited about the Xbox Series X. A bug of the current generation that remains unsolved is hardly enough to sink an entire console. But with the future of the video game industry on the horizon, fans have the right to expect great things. After all, Microsoft has already promised great things. It is a pity that in this one key area the Xbox Series X. just can’t deliver.
