Google announced on Thursday that it was expanded its “busyness” function by doing Google Maps App to show you live information about whether a place is crowded or empty. For example, if you plan to go to a grocery store, you can see how many people are actually there.
This update is in response to the coronavirus pandemic so people know what to expect when they go to a public place. According to Google, the function has been extended to other outdoor areas such as beaches and parks, as well as important locations such as grocery stores, gas stations, laundromats and pharmacies.

Once the feature is available, all you have to do is open the Maps app on your Android or iPhone ($ 699 on Amazon) or go to Google Maps in your browser and move around the map until you find where you want to go. The busyness information is shown on the map so you don’t have to search for a specific place to see how busy it is. You will see something like “Not busy”, “Busy than usual”, or “As busy as you can”. Google says this new map feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
