According to Prosser, Apple has selected November 17th for the next special event where the company will unveil new Mac models – including the first Mac to use Apple’s silicon chip to replace Intel processors.
Prosser also said Apple would confirm the event to the public a week earlier on November 10th. The company took a similar approach with its special events in September and October. Previously a Bloomberg The report had previously mentioned that Apple plans to launch new Macs in November.
During WWDC 2020, Apple announced the transition from Intel processors to its own Apple Silicon, which are basically the same ARM processors used on iPhone, iPad and other Apple devices. The company promised to launch the first Apple Silicon Mac later this year, but other details have not been disclosed since then.
It’s unclear if Apple will showcase other products at its special November event, but Prosser said this week that Apple will be announcing the long-awaited AirTags next month. However, AirPods Studio could be delayed until March 2021.
With the company running online events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s now easier to launch new products separately as the press doesn’t have to travel to Cupertino.
