Logan Paul buys rare Pokemon card for $ 150,000

YouTuber Logan Paul spent $ 150,000 on a very rare Pokemon card: a first edition, PSA 10, Shadowless Charizard card! The card was sold by Pawn Stars Gary, a famous Pokemon card collector who previously appeared on the History Channel series. Paul, who has spent a lot of money collecting Pokemon cards over the past few months, first flew in to make an offer for a rarer version of the card: a 10-Chargers with a BGS rating. Only two versions of this map are known. Both belong to Gary and clearly mean a lot to the collector. When Paul saw this, he made an offer for a slightly less rare version of Charizard. Only 100 of the PSA 10 are known!

According to Gary, a number of people have made offers on the BGS-rated Charizard, including Justin Bieber. One fan even went so far as to offer him a $ 400,000 home just for the card! After hearing about the offers Gary declined, Paul decided not to make an offer on that card and instead asked if he could buy one of the PSA 10 cards. According to Gary, Paul’s offer was the highest he had ever received for the PSA 10. The second highest was for $ 130,000.

While Gary had 7 of the PSA’s 10 Charizard cards prior to the sale, he initially seemed skeptical that Paul would make him a tempting offer. However, the Pokemon fan gave in. It probably didn’t hurt that Paul brought the cash with him, but according to Gary, the reason he was willing to part with the card was because of Paul’s passion. After the sale, Gary claimed he had no regrets and was instead happy for Paul.

The Pokemon TCG was first localized in 1999, and its popularity played a major role in the expansion of the Pokemon brand. Over the past 21 years, the game has continued to grow, offering cards for each subsequent generation of Pokemon, as well as new settings for old favorites. Even so, the original Base Set cards are still very popular with collectors, and Charizard was a favorite from the series from the start.
