Fortnite players at the counter are struggling with gyro controls after...

Nintendo Life

Epic recently released a new update for Fourteen days and it supposedly causes some serious problems for Nintendo Switch gamers who prefer to aim gyroscopes.

Since the release of version 14.30, the gyro target apparently stutters in the switch iteration and at times no longer reacts at all. Here are some video footage shared on a Fortnite subreddit:

This is a gamer’s understanding of what goes on in a message to Epic Support:

I want to report a bug in the Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite, namely a problem with the Gyro Aim function that occurred after updating to version 14.30.

In versions 14.20 and earlier, the gyro aim was fluid and accurate and my preferred style of play. However, when I logged in at 2:30 p.m. after the last update, I immediately noticed that the gyro-aim was not detecting minor movements of the controller that it had no problem with in previous versions, causing the crosshairs to jump across the screen and made it very difficult to aim at a specific target.

From what I’ve gathered in my (very informal) testing, this issue seems to coincide with a change to the joystick aiming aid in the last update. The aiming aid seems to be a lot more noticeable than in previous versions, and my stick target bounces around a little to lock itself on to moving targets. This could be a possible cause of the currently unusable Gyro Aim.

Another user noticed how Epic was apparently made aware of this bug:

This problem really ruins gameplay for me. Basically don’t play on the Switch until this is figured out. Perplexed

Epic contacted and they are now aware of the problem.

If we hear anything, we will be sure to let you know. In the meantime, let us know if this issue has appeared in the Switch version of Fortnite since the update. Have you even tried this game on Nintendo’s hybrid platform? Comment below.
