What is the name of the new iPhone?
The new iPhone is known as the iPhone 12.
Apple introduced four new iPhones this season. Pro models in two sizes and non-Pro models in two sizes:

iPhone 12 Price: How Much Does iPhone 12 Cost?

The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max were significantly more expensive £ 999 for the pro and £ 1099 for the Pro max.
iPhone 12 Design
The new iPhone 12 has a 6.1-inch display and a notch. It comes in five colors – bLack, white, red, green and blue.
The iPhone 12 mini fits in the palm of your hand and has a 5.4-inch display. However, thanks to removed bezels and more streamlined designs, it’s a smaller device than the 4.7-inch screen models of the past.
This model has exactly the same features as the standard iPhone 12, the only difference is the size. There’s a $ 100 price difference between the two devices, with the larger handset being slightly larger.
The standard and mini units have two rear cameras, while the pros have three on the rear.
The devices are all splash-proof and have four times the durability to be even stronger than the iPhone 11 and earlier models thanks to a brand new screen that combines glass and crystal. Apple called this the Ceramic Shield. The Pro can even be submerged in up to 6 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
iPhone 12 screen size
Different screen sizes are available for the different models:
- iPhone 12 mini – 5.4 inches
- iPhone 12 (standard) – 6.1 inches
- iPhone 12 Pro – 6.1 inches
- iPhone 12 Pro Max – 6.7 inches
The screens also feature a Super Retina XDR display with a higher resolution and twice as many pixels as the previous iPhone 11 model. That means clearer and sharper images as well as shaper colors.
iPhone 12 colors
The new iPhone 12 is available in five colors: black, white, red, green and a new blue. There is an aluminum frame on the outside.
The iPhone 12 Pro is available in four different metallic colors, including gold and the all-new Pacific blue. The pros also have a surgical steel frame around the edge.
There is a lot of choice iPhone 12 colors. We expected changes, when the iPhone XR was released in 2018, there were blue and coral colors that the later iPhone 11 was not sold in. These colors have been replaced with a more pastel palette of purple and green.
New iPhone 12 features
A number of exciting new features have been announced for both Standard and Pro devices. Some of the most exciting ones include the 5G connectivity and A14 bionic chip capabilities, as well as camera performance and much more.
One of the most exciting moments of the launch was the demonstration of the new smartphone’s 5G capabilities, which have been tested to work with 100 networks including T-Mobile, Orange and Vodaphone in more than 30 regions.
Under ideal conditions, download speeds can reach 4 GB per second and upload speeds of 200 MB per second thanks to the new 5G Ultra Wideband, developed in collaboration with Verizon. This means higher video quality, more responsive gaming, less network congestion, and higher speeds.
However, during the Apple event, it was found that the download speed under typical (rather than ideal) conditions is 1 GB per second, not 4 GB.
In order to enable the still very high speed, 5G antennas were installed around the iPhone device, and Apple has optimized the IOS frameworks so that they work with 5G without excessive energy consumption.
The handsets also only use 5G when needed and automatically switch to LTE when it is not needed.
iPhone 12 cameras
The standard iPhone 12 has a dual camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens (above) and a wide-angle lens (below). The lower lens has seven elements that provide a 27 percent performance improvement.
The functions for computer photography enable the camera to record smaller details even in difficult lighting conditions. Night mode is now even faster than previous models and can capture great pictures that are super clear even without a flash.
On the Pro, the Deep Fusion feature enables pixel-by-pixel texture and precision for the highest quality images, all achieved through a series of high-tech processes. There are four cameras in total, three on the back and one on the front. All four have the Deep Fusion function and the three on the back consist of an ultra wide angle lens, a wide angle lens and an additional telephoto lens for portraits.
The Pro Max is slightly larger, which allows a 5x optimal zoom range. There are new systems and sensors that allow for more stable images and larger, faster pixels for the best quality. There’s also an 87 percent performance improvement in low light conditions. The benefits extend to still images and video recordings.
iPhone 12 Port – Magsafe is charging
Charging has changed thanks to the new iPhone Magsafe system. The magnetic charging capabilities let you snap your charger into the back (it’s a circular, flat pad) instead of having to plug it into a port.
Bags and wallets can also be magnetically attached to the device, and chargers will still work, although both. All of the magnets in the phone are also made from recycled sources.
iPhone 12 processor
Another of the biggest updates is the brand new A14 bionic chip, which Apple says will be the fastest in the world during the October 13 release event. This means that the phone can work faster, but more energy-efficiently.
There is also good news for gamers, as the League of Legends Wild Rift PC game will now be available on the super-fast device thanks to the advanced processing power and graphics capabilities that come with it.
