The Apple Watch app will be introduced with version 3.88 of YouTube Music. Modeled after the standard Apple Music experience, it starts with your 11 latest playlists, albums, songs, and artists as cover art. Tapping will start playback on your phone immediately.
If you scroll all the way back, you will see two items: Play Now and Library. There you can access Recently Played Files, Downloads, Playlists, Albums, Songs, Artists and Subscriptions. Each item opens a dense list that is easier to scroll through.
When playing, the album art is used as a background with play / pause and skip / repeat scroll controls. You can also “thumbs up” and open a list of cast devices while the digital crown controls the volume and a circular progress bar is in the center of the screen.
This app does not provide offline access to songs or streaming. Your iPhone must be near you for this remote to work
Version 3.88 of YouTube Music for Apple Watch is now available on the App Store. It comes before an equivalent Wear OS client, despite Google promising to replace Google Play Music.
