In an official blog post entitled “Future Versions and Events” MiHoYo announced that content updates will be released for Genshin Impact every six weeks. These updates add themed events, challenges, and rewards that correlate with in-game and real-world holidays. Updates take place on Wednesdays and can range from a new event to a map expansion to an addition to the game’s story. MiHoYo stated that these are updates Genshin Impact’s Ability to regularly post new content and that each event has new and unique activities for players to experience.

The next three updates have already been released by MiHoYo. The update version 1.1 will be released on November 11th and bring with it the Unreconciled Stars Event. Version 1.2 will be released on December 23rd and will include a map expansion that will reveal the Dragonspine region. Version 1.3 will be released sometime in February 2021, introducing the Lantern Rite series of events. In addition, various festivals take place in different cities in Genshin Impact. Lunar City and Liyue will hold separate events centered around the god of this region.
