Destiny 2’s Steam migration will end in December 2020

Destiny 2’s Battle.net to Steam content transfer will end this December, Bungie confirms. So be sure to move your accounts.

Destiny 2 hasn’t been on Battle.net in a long time, but anyone who purchased the game on the Blizzard platform can still transfer their content, characters, and overall account to Steam. However, the time for the transfer is running out. According to Bungie, the broadcast will be canceled on December 1, 2020. After that, all untransferred expansion content, activations, weapons, characters and account data will be permanently lost.

Bungie confirmed the news in one go recent updateand warned players that if they migrate Battle.net data, the existing Steam progression will be overwritten. There is only one place for Steam data.

Since moving to Steam, Destiny 2 players have been able to migrate their characters, licenses, and progress through a one-time transfer from Battle.net to Steam. This transfer process will no longer be available as of December 1, 2020. All Destiny 2 PC players who have not migrated their licenses and content from Battle.net to Steam will no longer be available starting December 1st. Players in this status are advised to start the PC migration process so they do not lose access to their Destiny 2 licenses and content.

Please note that any existing content on Steam will be overwritten with migrated Battle.net content once a player progresses on Steam and chooses to migrate to PC. This means that all character and progress data on Steam will be erased and replaced with character and progress data from Battle.net. This cannot be reversed.
