In a recent PwC survey, 53 per cent of Middle East respondents said they are shopping more online using their smartphone (computer 39 per cent and tablet 31 per cent) in response to the pandemic, compared with 34 per cent for all territories in the survey. That is why we are working more than ever with our financial institutions and government partners to enable, through our digital solutions or support through campaigns like our Where You Shop Matters, businesses to adopt digital payments quickly and easily to ensure great smooth, secure, and frictionless experiences. The bottom line: digital payments are a necessity for businesses to not only overcome and survive the challenges presented by the pandemic, but also for them - and for economies - to thrive."
