Thank you for reading the news about Hossam Hassan believes Smouha could’ve beaten Zamalek and now with the details
Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - Smouha manager Hossam Hassan said that his side could’ve beaten Zamalek in their 0-0 draw in game-week 9 of the Egyptian Premier League.
The Alexandria based side’s solid defensive work helped them grab an important point against Zamalek, which helped them move to the fifth spot in the league.
Hossam Hassan expressed his delight with his team’s performance as they followed his instructions and believes that they could’ve won the game.
“We could’ve grasped the the win at any moment. Nasser Maher was a real threat to Zamalek and the game was quite balanced,” Hassan said during the post-match press conference.
“What made the game even more difficult is Zamalek’s loss against Tala’a El-Geish. Our players were very excited which put more pressure on the Zamalek players.”
“We struggled with injuries and Ahmed Fatouh’s absence due to a clause in his contract that doesn’t allow him to face Zamalek. Karim Yehia and Mahmoud Ezzat, who are main players within the squad are also missing as well as Fawzy El-Hennawy who just returned from injury he endured during his time with Egypt’s U-23 side.
“I’m happy that the player applied all of my tactics despite the absence of some key players. Since the end of last season, even before avoiding relegation, we worked on building a new team for the new season.
“Hossam Hassan is exhausted since returning from the national team camp and he started playing even though he felt discomfort in his knee. And this is only Nasser Maher’s appearance since recovering from injury.

“There’s still a long way to go in the league and the levels of teams are quite similar and there’s still some time until the end of the first half of the season. We have to fix some mistakes and we have a lot of young players to count on.
“We beat El-Geish who beat Zamalek and we hope keep these positive results coming. We lost to Al Ahly in the opening game of the season due to lack of chemistry.
“We have three positions that need improvement and we’ll work on bringing new players to strengthen our squad. We already have our targets for the winter transfer window.
“We will give more opportunities for our youngsters such as Faress Megahed, Khaled and Mahmoud Fahmy and Ibrahim Abdelkawy who are all born in 2002,” he concluded.
Smouha will face El-Gouna in their next game on December 25th in the Alexandria Stadium. Meanwhile Zamalek, who are currently fourth, will visit Entag El-Harby on December 24th.
