- Yasmine El Tohamy - Egypt head coach Hossam El-Badry has revealed his hopes for the Pharaohs’ 2022 World Cup qualifying group and chose the teams he desires to fall with.

The Egyptian national team have kept their place and remained 51st in the latest FIFA World Rankings released for the month of December.

The Pharaohs dropped two places in the rankings last month, going from 49th to 51st in the standings.

A 1-1 draw against Kenya and a goalless draw against Comoros in the same week saw Egypt go winless under Hossam El-Badry so far.

Egypt will know their World Cup qualifiers group rivals on January 21.

“African football has become tough. But according to what we have watched recently I would like to have Benin, Central African Republic and Malawi from each pot,” El-Badry said.

The African World Cup qualifiers will kick off in March 2020 and will last until October 2021.
