Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - CAF have officially postponed the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) as Cameroon filed a request to delay the tournament following the discovery of new COVID-19 cases.

Many countries have been taking precautionary measures after the World Health Organization classified the coronavirus as a pandemic.

Cameroon discovered five new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday as they filed an official request to CAF to delay CHAN’s kick-off.
Their tally has now risen to a total of ten cases, giving CAF no choice but to put the tournament on hold as a precautionary measure.
It’s worth mentioning that reigning champions Morocco had already withdrawn from the 2020 CHAN before CAF made the decision to postpone the tournament.
