Cairo – Masrawy:
A source close to the national team goalkeeper, Mahmoud Gad, revealed the fact that he deliberately celebrated in front of Gambian referee Bakari Gasama after the national team’s victory against Cameroon.
The national team snatched the qualifying card for the final of the current edition of the African Nations Cup at the expense of the Cameroonian team, the owner of the land, by winning a penalty shootout after the match ended in its original two halves with a goalless draw.
The same source indicated to Masrawy, that the young goalkeeper did not intend to celebrate in front of the Gambian referee after the match, as he appeared in a fragmented video clip of the national team’s celebrations that spread on social media after the match.
The same source concluded his statements by saying: “Mahmoud, after Egypt’s victory, went into the stadium with his colleagues and ran with them, and he did not see the referee and did not intend to go to him.”
The national team is preparing to face its Senegalese counterpart, at nine in the evening, next Sunday, in the final of the current edition of the African Nations Cup.
