According to the Qatari Al-Kas TV, the player’s heart stopped suddenly, as many ambulances came to try to rescue the player and take him to the hospital, amid reports that the match had not been completed.

Neither the League of Stars nor the Al-Wakra club announced any details of what happened to the player after he left the field and the match was already canceled.

Iranian Shoja Khalilzad scored Al Rayyan’s goal in the 19th minute with a header after a cross pass from a corner kick by Colombian James Rodriguez.

Commenting on the player’s condition, the journalist Khaled Jassim said in televised statements: “Praise be to God, the player Othman Coulibaly is good, God willing.”

And he added: “The medical staff took the required procedure, and God willing, his condition will improve and he will return to the stadiums as soon as possible.”

“God willing, he will be in good shape,” Al-Wakra spokesman Mohammed Al-Sulaiti told Al-Kass channel. As everyone on the field saw, he suddenly fell unconscious, but we can’t determine his medical condition now because we don’t know what happened, but his heart came back to life again and he was taken to the hospital.

“The match will not be completed today because the players are in a difficult condition after they saw their colleague fall on the field, and we asked not to complete it, and the Qatar Federation agreed to our request. After ensuring the player’s safety at that time, for each recent incident regarding the completion or replay of the match.”
