Yesterday, Thursday, the Tunisian Football Association announced that the star of the “Carthage Eagles” and Manchester United player, Hannibal Al-Majbri, had contracted the Corona virus, just three days before the start of the African Nations Cup.
The Tunisian Federation said in a statement published on its official page on the “Facebook” website: “The tests that the player Hannibal Al-Majbri underwent revealed that he was infected with the Corona virus, and Hannibal will be subject to health isolation, provided that he join the national team in Cameroon, immediately after his recovery.”
Al-Majbri is the third player from the official list of the Tunisian national team to be infected with Corona, after Youssef Msakni and Seif El-Din Jaziri, who the Tunisian Federation confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that he had recovered from the virus.
The finals of the African Nations Cup will start in Cameroon on the ninth of this month, while Tunisia, which won the continental title once when it hosted the 2004 edition, opens its campaign in Group F against Mali on the 12th of this month, before facing Mauritania and Gambia.
