Mustafa Murad Fahmy had run in the previous Al-Ahly elections for the position of Vice President on the list of Mahmoud Taher competing with Al-Khatib, but Al-Amri Farouk outperformed him in the race.
Mustafa Fahmy spoke to “On Time Sports 1”, saying: “Al-Khatib contacted me and informed him that there was no problem with being in the football company.”
He continued, “Al-Khatib told me that you will be president of the football company if Yassin Mansour is not present, and he was clear with me from the beginning, and I told him it was an honor to work with him, and we obtained the license from the Investment Authority last August.”
And about his candidacy against Al-Khatib in the previous Al-Ahly elections, he said: “We are working for Al-Ahly, and there are many friends who were on Al-Khatib’s list. There are no problems between us and no prejudice between the contestants in the elections.”
He continued, “I was not surprised by Al-Khatib’s request to be in the football company. He invited me on more than one occasion before, and the spirit of Al-Ahly and work for the club makes no problem between everyone.”
And about Hossam Ghaly’s apology for not continuing his position in the football company after his candidacy in the Al-Ahly elections, he said: “We are still discussing who will replace Hossam Ghaly in the Al-Ahly company after his candidacy in the club’s elections, and we will present the names to Al-Khatib to choose one of them.”
And he continued, “Hossam Ghaly, a person of character, sent us an apology after his progress in the Al-Ahly elections, and he not only informed us of his decision, but also apologized and wished him success.”
He stressed, “The most important thing for the football company in Al-Ahly is the continuation of victories, for example Arsenal cares more about profits, so performance and victories are not the best thing, but in Al-Ahly we care about victories.”
And he added, “I will go to the Al-Ahly elections, and we hoped that we would not have to choose between Khaled Murtaji and Khaled Al-Darandali during it.”
Murtaji and Al Darandali will compete for the position of treasurer in the elections to be held next November.
