Thank you for reading the news about Middlesbrough boss highlights Sam Morsy’s importance and now with the details
Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - Middlesbrough head coach Neil Warnock has heaped praise on Egypt midfielder Sam Morsy for his hard work on the pitch for the team, saying that having a player with his characteristics in every team is necessary.
Morsy is currently plying his trade at Championship side Middlesbrough, joining them last September from Wigan Athletic.
Since his arrival at the Riverside Stadium, Morsy has become an integral part of Neil Warnock’s squad, making 25 appearances, while assisting four times.
His latest assist came against Reading away from home after he did an incredible job to keep the ball alive in the box, before teeing up Marc Bola to lash home an unstoppable drive.
The performance of the 29-year-old left Warnock impressed that he raved about it in post match comments, and later on he returned to speak on the importance of his presence in the team.
“I think you always need players like that in your team. They do all the dirty work and all the hard work, but don’t necessarily catch the eye,” Warnock said.
“They leave the stardust to others. Everyone needs at least one of them in their team. I had Gunnarson down at Cardiff who did all the mucky bits. They become players who you take for granted.”
“I would say he [Morsy] is always 6/10. Very rarely will he get a 7 or a 5 because he can be taken for granted. But when you take him out of the side you miss him.”
Their next game will see them host 15th Bristol City at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday, February 23.
