Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - Al-Merrikh have reportedly issued a complaint against Al Ahly forward Mahmoud Kahraba for racially abusing their player.
The Sudanese side faced Al Ahly in Cairo in the opening round of the CAF Champions League group-stages, losing 3-0.
The goals came through Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Mahmoud Kahraba, and Walter Bwalya as the Reds earned an easy three points.
During the game, Kahraba was seen involved in a verbal argument with Al-Merrikh’s defender Abdelrahman Isaac Karongo, before Amr El-Sulya denounced his teammate’s behaviour.
According to Sudanese news outlet Kafr Watr, Al-Merrikh have requested their head of delegation in Cairo to go to the CAF headquarters in order to file a complaint against Mahmoud Kahraba for racially abusing Karongo.
The report added that a source informed them that Kahraba intentionally covered his mouth to not publicly show his insults toward the Al-Merrikh player.
Moreover, Al-Merrikh will take the issue to FIFA in case the CAF didn’t punish the ‘irresponsible’ player, who is known for his lack of discipline.
Al-Merreikh have also condemned pundits Sherif Abdel-Moniem and Reda Abdel-Aal for their comments against the club.
Abdel-Moniem had said that Al-Merreikh players are ‘happy to play at the Cairo Stadium’ while the controversial Abdel-Aal made fun of the history of the Sudanese club.
