Formula 1 | Helmet change for Russell, Fittipaldi and Aitken in Sakhir

Three drivers will start in their new team this weekend for the Sakhir Grand Prix. George Russell, Pietro Fittipaldi and Jack Aitken therefore chose helmets in different colors to adapt to their new liveries.

Russell will compete in his first race for Mercedes and will therefore have black on his helmet, since the team and its drivers have taken this color to fight against racism. It will have blue borders reminiscent of Petronas’ hue and its number written on the sides, with the top and front red.

Fittipaldi will have a different helmet than the one he tested in private testing last year with Haas, since his helmet will be almost exclusively red. The Brazilian will play his first race in F1, as will Aitken.

The latter will take back the helmet he had used in free practice in Austria, and is happy to have already driven the FW43: “It was the only opportunity I had to drive the FW43, and any experience I have had before this weekend will help.”

“We had a good ride in Austria, we had limited time to work, but this weekend should be more relaxed and it will help me take my first steps.”
