Christophe Dominici: the moving confidences of his wife Loretta

For the first time since the death of Christophe Dominici, on November 24, his wife confides in the columns of Paris Match. Loretta Denaro remembers a jovial man, a loving father and a caring husband.

She has not spoken since the terrible disappearance of Christophe Dominici. On November 24, Loretta Denaro lost the man who had made her heart beat for many years, died at the age of 48 after a fall in the park of Saint-Cloud. In the columns of Paris Match, the Italian remembers that day, which had started like all the others. “When he left that morning, He didn’t make any strange gestures, he didn’t give me any special looks. He didn’t kiss his daughters more than usual either.”, she describes to our colleagues. The day after a heartbreaking tribute ceremony paid to Christophe Dominici, his wife recounts how they fell in love. “I met him in 2007, he noticed me in the metro. He followed me, all shy. He immediately captivated me by his madness, his so romantic madness: but I was also seduced by his enthusiasm “, remembers the mother of their daughters, Chiara and Mya.

“After our meeting, during a match against Italy, he dedicated his test to me. I was under the spell”, tells Loretta Denaro in the columns of Paris Match. For her, Christophe Dominici was “a daddy listening” who “explained things very calmly to our daughters” but who “also liked to play fight with them”. If she agreed to come out of the silence, it is also to describe the man who shared his life for a long time. “Since his death the media have described a man in despair, but he was enthusiastic, mischievous and generous. That’s what I want people to remember.”, adds the Italian. While an investigation is still underway to determine the circumstances of the tragedy, she refuses to believe in the suicide hypothesis. Even if she knows it, Christophe Dominici was particularly upset by the cancellation of his project with the Béziers rugby club: “When his project was dismissed, he did not sleep for two weeks, he was devastated. But not to the point of committing a desperate gesture”.

Loretta Denaro: “He’s in the air that I breathe”

“It’s not possible, he had too much life in him to do that, no it’s impossible! I think it wasn’t him. It wasn’t him. Everything was fine. Our house under construction in Sèvres was progressing, we had lots of projects, the girls were doing well. It’s unthinkable! Unthinkable … “, confides Loretta Denaro to Paris Match. And to add, pending the report of the investigation into the disappearance of the former rugby player: “I don’t understand, I don’t understand. He wanted to protect everyone, especially his parents, but I was always there, I saw his pain, I knew everything. It’s impossible, impossible”. Devastated by the death of Christophe Dominici, his wife now wants to “fight for his memory, so that his name is not forgotten”, so that “people know what a great man he was” : “For me, now it’s everywhere, it’s in the air that I breathe”.
