For the most part, it was just a little uncomfortable with the broken English and Haaland who were known for his short answers in interviews, but then things took a seemingly very strange turn when the interviewer asked, “Are you going to sleep lonely tonight ? “”
Then he followed up the question with “You are not taking a girlfriend home with you at the moment. You didn’t score a hat trick. ”A very straight forward Haaland replied,“ Didn’t hit, no ”and the world’s most painful five seconds ended with an“ OK, that was it. Many thanks.”

Back at the CBS studio, Jamie Carragher exclaimed, “Oh, Jesus Christ!” “I honestly didn’t know where this was going,” said Micah Richards, and Carragher added, “I thought we were all going to fire!”
To be fair, the question wasn’t as absolutely crazy as it sounded. Presumably, the interviewer nodded to earlier comments Haaland made about sleeping next to the hat-trick match balls he earned at Red Bull Salzburg.
In an interview with Dagbladet last year, he called the balls his “girlfriends”. So, in a strange way, the interviewer’s comments made perfect sense. However, we are not sure what the real question should be.
