Sonny Bill Williams is expected to retire from the rugby league, and NRL legend Paul Gallen has given the two-time Premiership winner a tip for a lucrative future in another sport.

Williams is expected to fight with AFL star Barry Hall to resume his boxing career after he last got in the ring nearly six years ago.
He has a perfect 7-0 record (3 KOs) and Gallen, another league legend turned boxer, believed that SBW could turn entering the ring into a career after football.
“It will be a difficult question, because what is Sonny Bill realistically worth today?” Gallen continued Wide World of Sports Radio.
Gallen said Williams would make around $ 500,000 a year in the rugby league but could make as much, if not more, in a single fight.

“Put yourself in Sonny’s shoes: $ 500,000 a season, he could probably fight three or four bums bouts and make between $ 500,000 and $ 750,000 per fight,” he said.
“He’d probably get some grinds to fight me if he ever wanted to.
“But I think he could turn to boxing, I really do. I don’t see the money for him [in the NRL] from Sonny’s point of view. ”
Williams is a “human headline” according to Gallen, but ultimately he sees boxing as the better option from an individual perspective.
“From a club’s point of view, I agree. If you could pick him up for $ 400,000, $ 500,000, $ 600,000, the amount of money he could bring into the club, the amount of people he’ll get through the gate, the amount of people watching on TV about Sonny be Bill, it’s huge, ”he said.
“But from Sonny’s point of view, is it worth it?
