Firmino was dropped on the bench in the Champions League clash against Atalanta in Liverpool on Tuesday and replaced with Jota, who scored a dazzling hat trick.
Jota has already scored seven goals this season after leaving Wolves for £ 36million compared to Firmino.
But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp immediately dismissed proposals that Firmino’s role was threatened, and Alisson has now weighed on the debate.
“I don’t even have to talk about the importance of Firmino, for everything he’s done for the club and for everything he’s done,” said Alisson Interactive sport.

Alisson said of his new teammate: “He is a very hardworking, high quality and humble guy.
“He came to help us and further proved that our team is not just a player.
“We have a very strong squad and a very strong group.”
Klopp was firmly convinced that Jota’s performance before Liverpool’s crunch bout against title rivals Man City on Sunday hadn’t given him a potential selection problem. He insisted Firmino would be involved anyway.
“Good performances never give me a headache,” said Klopp after the game.
