Zara Harding-Horan from Aglish near Roscrea unfortunately passed away on Monday in Cork University Hospital.
The Birr Rugby Club was among the first to pay tribute to their “brave” former teammate.
They wrote on Facebook: “It is very sad to hear about the sudden death of former Birr RFC player Zara Horan.

“Zara joined the Birr RFC U18 team in 2017 and brought her team enthusiasm, determination and general fun. She was a brave and determined player who gave everything.
“We would like to express our deepest condolences to Zara’s family and friends, her former teammates and the larger rugby family with whom she is greatly missed. May she rest in peace.”
And Zara’s family has confirmed that her funeral will take place on Wednesday in Lorrha, Co Tipperary.
In a post on RIP.ie it says: “Zara is always missing from her parents Declan and Alison, brother Jamie, sister Charlotte, grandma Violet and grandpa Henry, grandma Vina and grandpa Seamus, aunts and uncles, cousins and close family members and be remembered and friends.
“Due to government policy, a private family service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 am at St. Ruadhan Church of Ireland in Lorrha.
“Burial afterwards in Terryglass Cemetery.
“Only family flowers. Donate, if desired, to the Cardiac Unit, Cork University Hospital, or Brú Columbanus, Wilton, Cork.
“House private please. Please respect the government’s guidelines on social distancing. ”
