Racing enthusiast Angela Menz tried to capture the atmosphere of Flemington in her apartment in East Melbourne.
“I made my own Melbourne Cup this year and made a big banner to bring the color and fun of Flemington into my house,” she said.
“I have balloons and streamers and a huge amount of food.
One of the most popular parts of the Spring Racing Carnival is the fashion in the field, which became fashionable on your lawn in 2020.
Bird Skin’s Ali Rauf won the emerging designer award for her color-blocked design, sewn from a zero-waste pattern.
Others were more timely with their racing clothes, including Fi Davidson, whose allure included tissues, hand sanitizer, and a toilet roll.

Melbourne Cup brunch and lunches also took place at venues across Victoria as socially starved Melburnians enjoyed their new freedoms.
Kaitlin Little and nine friends – the maximum number of people allowed in any Victorian pub booking – enjoyed mimosas and champagne at The Boatbuilders Yard on the Yarra River in South Wharf.
“It’s just so good to be out with friends again and for the Melbourne Cup too – it’s a bonus,” said Ms. Little.
Others just wanted to get outside and enjoy the warm weather, but with a remaining 25km travel limit preventing Melburnians from driving further afield that weekend, the town’s beaches were full.
