Zlatan Ibrahimovic the worst in Europe after another missed penalty kick

AC Milan has also turned the second group match in the Europa League into a win. A week after the 1-3 victory over Celtic, Stefano Pioli’s team in Group H was 3-0 too strong for Sparta Prague. Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao and Diego Dalot scored the goals i Rossoneri in Northern Italy. To his surprise, Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a penalty kick in the first 45 minutes.

In the 24th minute Brahim Diaz broke the spell: after a lightning-fast attack, Ibrahimovic kept a good overview and delivered the ball to the Spaniard. The attacker cut in and placed the ball behind Milan Heca. After 36 minutes, the ball hit the spot when David Lischka fouled Ibrahimovic. The Swede took the eleven-meter kick himself and saw his effort end on the crossbar. That means he hasn’t been able to cash in two of his last three penalties in all competitions and no player from any club in Europe’s top five leagues has missed more penalties since August.

For Zlatan, the match lasted only one half: he was replaced by Rafael Leao at half time. The substitute signed for the 2-0 after less than an hour of play: after a wonderful pass from Diego Dalot with the outside of his foot, he worked the ball from close range behind Heca. Dalot took the 3-0 after 66 minutes. After a long ball from Ismaïl Bennacer, he shot the ball with a low shot in the bottom corner.

The other match in Group H, Lille – Celtic, ended in 2-2. AC Milan leads the dance with six points from two duels and has a two point lead over Lille. In a week the interesting meeting between AC Milan and Lille awaits at the San Siro.
