Raheem Sterling may be close to an official announcement regarding his personal branding and sponsorship. The American sports giants New Balance are now following the England international on Instagram, as FootyHeadlines reported on Wednesday.

The Manchester City striker was also spotted wearing a whiteout version of New Balance boots against Marseille on Tuesday night – another indication that a deal between the player, his agents and the US sporting goods manufacturer could be tight.

Raheem Sterling was previously tied to a sponsorship deal with Nike that ended last summer. While no rumors have surfaced that Sterling might join New Balance, the fact that he laced himself into the brand’s boots in an official match could only be a tiny hint of a future deal.

Earlier reports unsurprisingly linked Sterling to the game’s biggest brands, with Manchester City kit maker and main sponsor Puma chasing the star alongside Adidas and Under Armor. A new main sponsor for Raheem Sterling would be another major step forward in the player’s incredible rise in personal branding & M, Gillette and Clarks have spotted over the past 12 months.
