Claudine and Robbie Keane moved to Ireland after living in Beverly Hills for five years.

The soaring couple have lived in Los Angeles and England, but the Covid-19 pandemic and their sons’ education has resulted in their being housed in their Malahide, north Co Dublin mansion for the near future.

Robbie also comments and trains Zoom so he doesn’t have to travel around Europe.

Claudine told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “I have settled in Ireland with the children for the past few years.

“While Rob trains abroad during normal times, he can come home for two days and we would then travel to see him for another two days.

“It’s usually halfway between the two places. We are trying to make life between England and Ireland work as well as possible.

“We had planned to be here for a few years, the kids are here at school, but you never know where the industry will take us.”

The earlier model believes that Ireland coped with the pandemic quite well and that she and her family have always felt very safe at home and are happy that she is not living in America.

She added, “I know I couldn’t see my father when he was sick, but even being in the same country as him was a huge bonus.

“I couldn’t imagine not being in Malahide and dealing with all of this. I grew up in Malahide so I am familiar with the area and we are on the beach and near the castle.

“Robert and Hudson go to the same elementary school I went to, my brother’s wife teaches there, and my fourth grade teacher is now the headmaster. In any case, I’m glad I decided to stay. ”

Claudine’s father was hospitalized in April after testing positive for Covid-19, but no other family needed to be tested.

She said: “The children were already away from school and there were warnings for people to move away socially from grandparents or over 70s.

“We followed all the regulations and luckily we were not at risk ourselves. Nobody in the family was affected. ”

Robbie was also 40 years old in the summer and Claudine was able to organize a small party on the occasion.

She said, “I thought it was really important to do something with the children and our parents. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters now.

“We felt like the happiest people in the world with a handful of people in the room, but they were all that mattered.

“We’ll celebrate properly again when it’s safe and the timing is right.”
