Stuntman Travis Pastrana stopped in his Maryland hometown Thursday to jump a rally car over a popular marina while a speedboat passed underneath.

Pastrana, a 37-year-old Annapolis native, was doing some attempts over Ego Alley in his Team Subaru rally car when trying to sync with Miss Geico – the world’s fastest offshore racer at speeds up to 300 km / H.

His biggest concern while performing the stunt was the humidity when fog wiped out the sun Thursday morning and encountered heavy dew on the streets, reports the Capital Gazette.

After the Nitro Circus leader drove from City Dock to the Newman Street trailhead, he did some burnouts to warm up the tires.

“If the tires are too wet, I’ll land in Latitude 38,” he said, highlighting a restaurant just 70 feet from the landing dock on the City Dock side of Ego Alley.

Pastrana hit every jump and drifted as it came to a screeching halt.

The stunt was hard to come by because of its moving parts and reliance on timing with the 40 foot motorboat.

Pastrana jumped the waterway three times and perfected the synchronization the third time

Britt Lilly piloted the motorboat – with the ship in bright neon green and the logo of Hoonigan Industries, a San Diego-based film company.

The synchronization was extremely difficult as on the first try the motorboat turned up late and passed the ramp well after Pastrana had already jumped.

On the second try, the speedboat actually raced past the ramp before Pastrana was even in the air.

Pastrana’s wife, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, watched the Fleet Reserve Club spectacle with the couple’s daughters.
