Now the boxer from Queensland has revealed the gruesome extent of his injury in a video that was posted on his personal Instagram account and that you can watch in the video player above.

“Soldier, because he’s been going on for so long! Quick recovery, ”replied boxer Kaye Scott.

“Total respect,” added Caity Parker, another female boxer.

“This is hands down the worst broken jaw I’ve ever seen,” tweeted MMA and boxing journalist Chisanga Malata.

The incident occurred during Hussain’s fight with compatriot Ben Mahoney.

The 25-year-old collected Hussain in the second round with a huge left hook and then knocked out his mouthguard.

Then blood began to flow from his mouth, and later reruns showed the injury was far worse than initially thought when Hussain’s broken jaw was revealed.

His corner was reluctant to throw in the towel as it lasted five rounds in a brutal encounter before the doctor called the bout on the sixth round after concluding that the jaw was broken.

“Your jaw is broken, mate,” said the doctor.

“I mean, it’s badly broken, we have to stop it.”

“What we saw with his mouth didn’t look good,” added Ben Damon in the comment.

“We thought it might be a tongue or a cut in the mouth. But it’s a broken jaw and with it Benjamin Hussain showed that he is tough beyond the world.

“He went through most of this fight with what appeared to be a very, very badly damaged mouth and jaw.”
