Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos could miss the Clasico-Barcelona clash

Real Madrid fearfully sweat over the fitness of captain and talisman Sergio Ramos before a blatant Clasico showdown with bitter rivals Barcelona this weekend.

Ramos has spent some time on the sidelines training alone since he was recently hit in a La Liga clash with Cadiz.

The 36-year-old hobbled after the break in a game that saw Madrid suffer a 1-0 defeat and put even more emphasis on the upcoming meeting with Barca.

Madrid have only picked up 10 points in five games after a slow start to the season and will find out at the last minute whether Ramos will be back in time for Saturday’s showdown at Nou Camp.

Ramos didn’t have a midweek when Madrid were defeated again, this time by Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

Ramos has trained separately after being hit in the recent clash with Cadiz

The Madrid captain watched from the stands as his team lost their first group match 3-2 at home despite scoring two goals in the second half and on their way to a comeback.

Dani Carvajal, Eden Hazard and Martin Odegaard have already been eliminated from the Barca game while Mariano Diaz and Alvaro Odriozola are also unavailable for Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Eder Militao was Raphael Varane’s partner at the heart of Madrid’s defense against Shakhtar and could do the same if Ramos doesn’t return in time.

In contrast, Barca triumphed spectacularly during the week’s Champions League action, beating Ferencvaros 5-1 despite Gerard Pique being sent off.
