Didn’t stop screaming during the game. There was only one thing that really needed to be done and it was to score an excellent full length save to improve Gruber’s curling attempt towards the end of the first half. Helped Spurs score their first goal of the season. 7

Matt Doherty

Picked Vinicius with an early flank that should have gone home. He paced up and down his flank, defended well and brought in a good cross leading up to Spurs’ third goal. 8

Davinson Sanchez

After an early wobble, he had a solid game and little got past him behind. 7

Ben Davies

Captain for the night and in central defense. Started well and played a good ball for Vinicius to prepare Lucas for the opener. Always taking control alongside Sanchez, showing that he is a decent option for the position when needed. 8

Sergio Reguilon

Walked left on a Roadrunner-esque breakout before cutting inward to score the second goal. Incredible pace and could become a real star for this Spurs team. 8

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Whether it was wiping the edge of its box, pressing the other end, performing double pirouettes to make LASK players dizzy, or acting like a watchdog when Vinicius was overthrown late, the Dane was an imperious presence. He did it all with a Terry Butcher / Paul Ince style bandaged head after sustaining a cut over his eye. 9

Harry swims

A few hasty challenges and a few sloppy moments, but plenty of what got in his way in the middle of the pitch. 7

Erik Lamela

A busy player in number 10, he was involved in the second goal and had a chance at the beginning of the second half, but was caught several times holding the ball a little too long. 6

Gareth Bale

A couple of nice early touches before taking back his first assist in Spurs colors with a low cross that turned Andrade home in the first half. However, it looked rusty and understandably did not fire on all cylinders yet. 6

Lucas Moura

Ran on Vinicius’ pass into the box and confidently shot home on 18 minutes to score a goal scored in Brazil. He’s had some good positions, maybe without getting the best ball, but he was a threat to Spurs until he got away with it just over 10 minutes from the end. 8

Carlos Vinicius

Head wide, if not marked within 10 minutes from eight meters. Did well but not too long after that, took Davies’ ball over the top well and turned it towards Lucas for a goal. Worked hard and still found his fitness. Fifteen minutes left, Alli had a chance and then cushioned a header for Son to score Spurs’ third goal. Two assists in a very decent debut. 8

Son Heung-min

Bred energy into the team and ran through to grab onto Vinicius’ header and score a goal. 7

Moussa Sissoko

Replaced Hojbjerg and climbed up and down in a solid performance. 6

Dele Alli

With 15 minutes to go, I had a big chance, but the goalkeeper got a touch and ran back to keep it from going over the line. 6

Young Lo Celso

Brought his usual smart game with aggressive anger to help Spurs for the final 15 minutes. 6

Jack Clarke

Got through in the last five minutes and almost had a big moment on his debut when he rolled a shot just past the LASK goal. N / A
